Her Shorts 2008: International Women's Video Festival. Women's short videos from 17 countries, such as China, Italy, Netherlands, and Peru will be on tour in the US. The festival is jam packed with works that range in content and style, including animation, documentary, and experimental video art that will shock, surprise, and entertain.
Please note: Not All Subject Matter is Suitable for all Ages
Plugged Art Collective is a volunteer grass roots organization founded in 2004 by a group of art lovers, object makers, critics, and go-doers. Plugged revolves around the desire to support and promote art that is free, thought provoking, stimulating, and unsettling. Why? Exactly.

"this is only temporary" at Loyola's Diboll Gallery
You are invited to attend the Collins C. Diboll Art Gallery's opening reception for "this is only temporary" by Cody Vanderkaay and "Now Showing" by adjunct faculty members from the Visual Arts Department.
"this is only temporary"
CODY VANDERKAAY presents a post-studio investigation linking his ongoing 'Coverup' series to work done in the studio. While traveling by bicycle through various cities, Vanderkaay observed the mismatched relationships between surface and color. The shapes that he discovered depict a generic quality, and yet, to him, looked familiar.
His desire to map these shapes resulted in purposeful outlining of contours with string, thus capturing the precision of the grey painted shapes. As a result, VanderKaay has created large-scale objects that are built from painting, drawing, graphic image and billboard-like constructions.

Exciting artwork from Visual Art's adjunct and extraordinary faculty members Cody Vanderkaay, Nancy Sharon Collins, Christopher Derris, Angela Driscoll and Victoria Ryan.

Constance Release Party and Exhibit @ Barristers

This Saturday marks the 2nd annual release of Constance: Delicate Burdens. Constance is an annual arts journal focusing on contemporary art by New Orleans natives and residents. This year the book release party is doubling as an opening for a group show featuring the artists who were included in the book at Barristers. The opening is this Saturday, March 1st. See the flyer for more details. Noted photographers who will be showing work include Frank Relle and Lee Crum along with many other artists of various disciplines.
